A client from Tennessee has asked us to complete a full restoration of his 1996 Supra La Brisa. We're looking forward to working on this boat, since it is a little bit different from our typical restoration boats. Just wait and see what we are able to do with this vessel. It will be impressive.

Here are some photos taken before the boat arrived at our facility. We'll get more posted here soon.

Follow along in the comments below as we complete this restoration. I suggest sorting the comments so that the oldest are displayed first. That way, as you scroll through, the comments will be displayed in chronological order, and this will show a timeline of the work as it is completed.

Today, the custom swim platform that we had built for this boat arrived. Gotta say, I am pretty impressed! This will look outstanding once it is all oiled up and installed!

Today, I verified some wiring on this boat's navigation lights. This is a different setup than most ski boats have. This boat has a typical bow red and green light, but the mast for the all-around white light mounts in FRONT of the windshield, so only the front half of that light is supposed to illuminate when the navigation lights are on. That way the driver isn't blinded by that light. There is also a white light mounted in the stern that illuminates with the navigation lights and the half mast light to provide the full all-around white light coverage. When the ANCHOR light is on, the mast illuminates all-around and the stern light goes off. We got …

The new winch was mounted to the trailer today. It is a big improvement over the original!

Today, this boat got a new raw water strainer installed. We will be fabricating a mount for it, and it will likely hang off of the transmission. I can't believe this boat didn't ave a strainer from the factory.

The T you see in the water line will allow a hose to go to the dripless packing gland for the prop shaft.

Today, we were able to install the new depth finder on this boat. This new unit does not require a hole in the hull; it is an in-hull installation. The wiring from the gauge was properly extended so that it could get switched power from another gauge, and it powers up properly when the key is turned on. We'll have to wait until we get the boat in the water to actually test functionality, but I have no doubt that it will work properly.

This is the transducer mount in the bilge. The silicone is drying in this picture. After it dries, we'll fill the cavity with anti-freeze and mount the transducer. This angled mount allows us to mount the transducer as level as possible for the most accurate reading.

Here are the properly-extended gauge wires. As always, we used adhesive shrink wrap on the connectors, ensuring a long life in the marine environment, and of course we used the proper color wires for the extensions so that the next person who works on the boat won't have to guess what the wires are.

Here's the powered-up display. We're looking forward to water testing it soon.
