I went ahead and changed the V-Drive oil, since I wasn't sure when it was last serviced. I'm glad I did. I am not sure that it had EVER been serviced because the fill cap was PAINTED shut. At any rate, it is changed now. I actually flushed it twice since I don't think it had been changed in a while.
It is hard to see that it is full since the new oil is so clear, but it is right on the H line.
Today's water test went even better than expected. The boat ran beautifully. There are one or two very minor things that we'll adjust, like reinstalling the safety lanyard that is currently bypassed and replacing the temperamental blower, but I'm very happy with the results. Even had tunes playing on the stereo!
The engine is now running nicely. We refurbished some of the upholstery panels that were torn or otherwise sub-par, like this engine hatch, and our guys installed those today. This boat is now officially ready for a water test!
We changed the FCC filter in this boat this week, and it was nasty! Maybe the worst I have seen. This is what happens when you neglect maintenance on the fuel system! We got it all cleaned up and a new genuine PCM FCC filter was installed.
The refurbished propeller was installed on this boat today. This is the original OJ that came with the boat, and our friends at OJ Propellers refurbished it for us, so we know the specs are right. Sure looks nice too!
